Opening reception for Red Shutter Orleans solo exhibit at the Center for the Arts Murfreesboro TN Local Artist Kerin Beard’s work celebrating the Spirit of New Orleans will be featured at the Murfreesboro Center for the Arts. The gallery will host her original oil paintings that emphasize the Vieux Carrè, the heart of the city. An Opening Reception will be held for the artist Saturday, May 11, 2013 from 4 to 6 PM. The event is free and open to the public. The Exhibit will host Beard’s Red Shutter Orleans pieces, a small collection of New Orleans oil paintings and French Quarter oil paintings. Most artwork consists of bright, vibrant colors that transform the Vieux Carrè to Beard’s own adaptation of the beautiful and whimsical City of New Orleans. Beard’s work has been recognized throughout the region. Most recently, her Royal Hotel Moon painting was featured in the Sweet Mysteries exhibit at Chroma Gallery in Nashville, TN from 2012-2013, as well as other local venues in and around Middle Tennessee. Regarding her work and style, Beard explains, “I have little formal training, and I believe that’s okay. I paint what I think, what I see, and what I feel. Anyone that possesses creativity can give life to art. The great thing about art is that it is subjective. And when there are no wrong answers, creativity can thrive. About Red Shutter Orleans: Red Shutter Orleans was founded in August of 2012 by Kerin Beard for a love of all things New Orleans. Each painting features the signature red shutters somewhere in the painting. For more information on Kerin Beard or purchasing art, please email
